Analysis and design of non-linear seismic isolation systems for building structures—An overview

In this paper, the development of non-linear building isolation systems is overviewed. The study summarizes commonly used linear in two categories, which are base and inter-storey systems. Typical isolators including Lead-Rubber Bearings Friction Pendulum viscous damper Tuned Mass Damper reviewed. analysis design also reported. After that, introduced from aspects based on their dynamic characteristics. They (i) stiffness Quasi-Zero Stiffness Non-linear Energy Sink (ii) damping power-law dampers magnetorheological dampers. Practical implementations these introduced. Finally, discussed. Traditional equivalent linearization approaches advanced frequency promising applications to demonstrated review paper.
